Respiratory Health Association (RHA) recently held a virtual fundraiser that would leave anyone impressed. RHA has been a local public health leader since 1906, and they address issues like asthma, COPD, lung cancer, tobacco control, and air quality with a comprehensive approach. Their mission is to prevent lung disease, promote clean air, and help people live better through education, research, and policy change.
RHA has been a charity beneficiary of CHILL, an in-person event by LuxeHome, theMART, Chicago. This is not your typical fundraiser! It’s an International Wine and Culinary event complete with food, drinks, silent auction, raffle, music, and unique entertainment.
It’s hard to imagine taking such an exclusive and distinctive event onto a virtual platform and being successful, but that’s exactly what RHA did by creating CHILL at Home 2020.
They partnered with local restaurants for food and drink deals for their registrants.
They hosted a silent auction online with a wide range of goodies and gift packages available.
They joined with McGrath Lexus of Chicago to provide a competitive raffle for their attendees.
They established sponsors and created encore content to offer an even more robust experience for their guests.
And do you know what happened? They received $40,000 more than what they projected in donations. In a pandemic. With a virtual event.
